When im trying to register my card details online and it asks for my account number it only lets me put 8 digits in? Am I doing something really obviously stupid?

Your account number should be 8 digits. Are you trying to put your 16 digit card number in?

Maybe not, but I'll give you a good kick up the arse though

What type of card is it? A debit card? Cos it should have the 16 digits in big letters thru the middle, then at the bottom in smaller letters, a 6 digit sort code and 8 digit account number. This may not be the case if its just a cash card

I just couldnt find anything which said account number on it so just assumed it was that one on the front

i think every fucker knows my pin number, pointless having one when campbell is shouting the fucker out while im trying to put it into a cash point on a saturday night

yep for future reference you 16 digit card number across your card is as follows:

A random 4 digit number, follow by your sort code, then followed by your account number, that makes up the 16 digits so your account number should be the last 8 digits of your 16 digit number.

The first 4 digits used to be 'Card Type' natwest switch, barclay visa, etc

I got my sort code from my cheque book

Then realised it was all on my card...

I've been tryin to apply for online banking for ages.. I keep registering but my bank (llyods) ask me to get in contact 5 days later to finalise registering and I keep forgetting

One day I'll get round to it..

The first 4 digits running accross the card do specify the type of card that is being used.. got no idea bout the rest though!
