    Al Queda provide a solution

"The Al-Qaeda terror network told European nations to pull their troops out of Iraq within a month or face more attacks like the London bombings, according to an internet statement.

This message is the final warning to European states. We want to give you a one-month deadline to bring your soldiers out from the land of Mesopotamia (Iraq)," said the statement signed by Al-Qaeda group the Brigades Abu Hafs al-Masri dated July 16".

They obviously mean business, with no indications of how many cells are active in the UK perhaps the obvious solution would be to pull out of Iraq?

watch the news, the saudi ambassador has linked this to al queda, all specialists are linking this to al queda, it looks very likely this is the work of an al queda cell.

Unfortunately if we do pull out of Iraq, that's just telling any potential terrorist out there that if they do anything we'll capitulate to their wishes, which may encourage more terrorism still.

Difficult one. Glad I'm not in government.

I value human life over "principles"

    thousands of Iraqi's have died
hundreds of britisah citizens have died (over there and in london)

Why are we even in Iraq?

Pulling out could mean even more people die though, due to power struggles in Iraq and further terrorist attacks here as people know the government will just roll over.

i think our reasons for going were total shite - however, we're there now and it'd be an even more wrong to pull out now... if anything, we should clear up our mess.

recriminations can be dealt with later

They've also carried out some fucking heinous acts that were certainly carried out by them, as no one understands how al queda operates, how its strutured, how cells operate, its impossible to tell whether they were involved or not.

It would seem very likely in both the Madrid and London bombings that outside help was saught and there could of been controling parties whom the cells were operating under.

the Brigades Abu Hafs al-Masri are unquestionably linked to Osama and are a very active al queda cell, so it would make sense to listen to them :p

But there is no solution, we're just delaying the inevitable.

The longer we stay, the more intense the opposition, a UN peace keeping force needs to move in and we need to move out.

if we pull out now though, do we not run the risk of creating a melting pot, breeding ground for islamic militants?

i would agree, were it not for the fact that the UN is pretty much powerless in such roles..

    explain exactly what you mean?

I was pretty sure pakistan was where most al-queda militants were recruited and pakistan is a very westernised nation.
