a) What were this gang of militant Jews doing out on the Sabbath anyway? Does being on Sabbath Patrol count as working? Any more than collecting firewood?

b) If the Lord is so sure that He needs a break on the Sabbath, why didn't he tell Moses to stop pestering him with something this trivial?

c) If the Lord is so sure that everyone must not be doing anything on the Sabbath, then how could he order them to stone someone to death? An activity if ever I heard one.....he's ordering people to break his own rules!! Surely the stoning brigade would be just as entitled to a stoning after.
There is no mention of this occurring on the shabbat?

d) If the Lord thinks this guy deserves to be executed for his foraging crimes, wouldn't a tactical heart attack have been a much quicker and easier way of doing things?
When your child does his homework wouldn't it be easier to tell him the answer than allow him to work them out?
