    Political correctness is the art of dumbing down the meaning of words and seeing offence where none was ever intended.

    Fair enough, don't use words like nigger, spook etc (plain racist), but naming blackboards "chalkboards" and whiteboards "penboards" simply because they refer to a colour is stupid.

    It's not like in the old days people used to graft a sheep onto a black person to create black sheep or used to skin them to use them for blackboards... otherwise I could see the point.

    Another example is brainstorm has not changed to shower thought incase if offends epileptics, my mum died of epilepsy I never once saw her complaining when I said brainstorm

    do gooders thinking they are doing us a favour or helping people out by trying to remove offence, even if none was taken!!!

    Its all about not wanting to hurt peoples feelings...... you cant tell a kid they've failed an exam it may affect them mentally for the rest of their life being called a failure, lets tell them they've deferred success! :eek:

    No wonder kids dont know right from wrong anymore!! You fail, you try harder or deal with it! simple as!
    Like disciplining kids we're not supposed to smack kids if they do wrong :confused:

    Bollocks. Yes theres always gunna be some people who takes it too far and beat their child, fair enough they should be punished. but theres nothing wrong with smackin.

    The other day I saw a kid run out into the road, luckily the driver stopped. His mum belted him. I could see people lookiing at her, but imo she was spot on doing it. :up:
    That kid is gunna remember not to run out again and a smack hurts a hell of a lot less than a car!!!

    S'all about common sense which some people dont have so feel the need to be PC about everything.

    This country has gone mad.
    A kid falls over in the playground cuts their knee, you feel the pain and think I aint gunna do that again! mistake/pain/learnt a lesson. end of story :)

    But no... the school gets sued for not having foam play facilities and its their fault! :spangled: The kid never learns anything because they havent been exposed to it.

    Result = generations of kids who cant think for themselves, react to a situation, have any kind of common sense or distinguish the difference between right/wrong!

    May aswell bubble wrap em and shelve em all now cos thats all they be good for!
