Engagement rings anyone know any good places for them. also whats the going rate for a nice diamond engagment ring. and ladies is £1000 good enough for an engagement ring?
Re: Engagement rings I'm not a lady last time i checked but fook me if 1000 squiddies isnt enough, I'd re-consider getting engaged Who's the lucky lady anyway?
Re: Re: Engagement rings well im only looking about cos i just started wondering about the whole subject after watching somet on tele. Just wanted some knowledge on it. my gf Laura would be the lucky lass
Before you buy one, ask your girlfriend what her opinion is on you buying something, say, a new TV for 1000 whoppers. After she's complained and stressed out with you be the gentleman and agree, it's a bad idea. Now you have your budget. On a serious note, I'm sure if you go into a jewellers (gold smiths in the metro centre is a fucking expensive place amongst others that are a bit cheaper) they will ask you waht you are looking for, how much you're willing to spend etc etc then show you a range of rings that fit your needs. I've never done it but it would make sense. they're always dying to sell you something so i doubt you'd be pushed to find help. Lee and Laura
I'd much rather have the option of (up to) 1000 freshly made whoppers on-hand than a new tv for 1000 quid. That's got me thinking about loads of other face-offs lol
aye, i can tell they wouldnt mind helping me part with some obstructive heavy nuisance notes. or even lessen the strain of my bank card.
I got mine from Ernest Jones. They give you this thing where you can get it cleaned for free each year for 10 years. Loads of choice too Mines lovely Cost £800, and Im more than happy with that, so I would say £1000 is enough!! Get her a platinum one, they look so much nicer Gold is much cheaper, but platinum just looks better and is a higher quality. Im glad I didnt get a gold one.
Platinum is the shit like! It doesn't really loose its shine and looks lush! £1000 is easily enough..
Buy a cheap one from argos, then if she says no, you havent just spunked a grand away. if she says yes then go and buy her an expensive one
to be honest £1000 is more then enough but if a ring if a big part of it you need to spend about £2500 i only have £750 so far saved up and i know i could get one for that but it will be a tiny little thing and i know my lass would love a big rock to show off!! so if she a girl who loves the idea of a big rock then save some more!!
I would be scared to wear a ring that was £2.5k!! The rock in mine is about 3/4 of a centermeter diameter and its big enuf to show off. If it was any bigger, it would get in the way
engaged  it'l take some man to make me consider that again!! :cry2: but £1000 is a nice price to pay!! im with cookee on the platinium theory, its so nice. so is white gold.and just a solitare diamond. id want a princess cut one too anyway "congratulations"
i want a platinum ring when i eventually get engaged but ive looked at prices when ive been looking me sister for her wedding rings and i think the nice platinum ring would start at about £1000 - £1500!!! but they are worth it like!!!
^^^thats mine^^^ or at least it will be....keep being told that it will be bought soon enough. only £199...dont want nething too pricey, what i want is just a ring to symbolise our commitment....then it can be upgraded if we are engaged for more than 3 years...hopefully we will be married in a couple tho wedding rings are going to be whitegold and engraved on the inside with either this, or, because i dont think it will all fit, an abbrevieated or just the 1st letter of each word... "well i guess that makes us even then"
I always thought it was meant to be a certain amount times your monthly salary, think maybe twice?! But I can't rememebr the exact amount, I'd say £1000 was more than enough, at the end of the day it's somethign to show your committment to each other not to show off to your mates with
I dont find that at all with Ernest Jones. Ive had any amount of stuff from there and never had a problem. My platinum ring is still shining like its brand new and its due for a clean very soon too. I would never get white gold again tho. Do you all realise its just plated? Its not solid. And it fades after like a year of every day wear to this murky colour.
