    i had a class night, but then again im not a purist listening out for the needle to jump on the record :rolleyes:

    ill probably get some stick but i thought tong was brilliant, he played some great tunes and had the crowd going as soon as he came on, another great night at shindig :D

    and tom did you leave a message on my fone :lol: i cant make out anything u say lol had no credit to fone u back either soz about that.

    he could beat match, his mixing wasnt bad at all tho so i dunno where he got this from, cos me scruf eyeball etc all thought hs set was great :)

    yeh he played some decent stuff, if anything id say his mixing was a bit minimal at times, but it didnt bother me, their were definately no trains pulling into foundation tho :up:
    yeh it was quite busy, not too packed so it was easy to dance still :)

    His mixing's not that bad anymore, it's just really basic, like on a ministry of sound mix CD that's done on the computer that just mixes the last 32 beats of one track into the other everytime.
    For someone that's been DJing as long as him though, that's really poor

    Tong was amazing, he played a well good set. The numbers were just right aswell. Enough for a good atmosphere but still somewhere to dance and sit. Much better than the Lawler night.

    Can anybody try and ID a track that Tong played for me?

    The only way I can describe it is that it seemed to build and build. The bassline reminded me of the Michael Woods mix of gamemaster the way that it sort of drove along. I think it also had some kind of mad acid line going off in the background, I can't remember very well but it destroyed the place.

    Some dj's have made huge names for themselves regardless of their live mixing abilities,..... for tune selection mainly. Timo Maas was utter shite 3 years ago when he was trying to mix trance and now i would say he was one of the worlds best dj's,.... he can pick some of the filthiest, chunkiest tunes in the world and they just sound class.

    And people still turn up to tiesto gigs even though the man has a pack of wild horses in his record bag at times...

    Bad mixing can SOMETIMES be forgiven if the dj in question can still raise the roof from stage presence and musical selection alone ... even if it isnt the 'perfect' thing.

    He wasn't playing trance when I seen him play in the arches and Ibiza 99-2000. The DC10 style house he is well known for now has always been his trade mark sound.
