Souness to take over toon job SkySports claim Souness has already told his Blackburn players he's quite and heading to Newcastle. I was torn as to whether to post this here or in HUMOUR/FUNNY STUFF
Don't belittle them mate. They can do that themselves Sheperd said it was one of the "top 8 managerial jobs in the world" so does that mean Souness is one of the top 8 manager sin the world? A debate beckons..
for fucks sake, and everyone thought Robson was going mad, when its been sheperd all along, sells woodgate, the rooney farse, sacks Robson and now one of the worst decisions to appoint souness
Agreed we cud have found someone better but 2bf he aint gona take no shit of anyone! A lot of our players need a good arse kicking
remmber chaps he's only filling in til the real man who runs Newcastle United is ready to take charge
If the current Newcastle "trouble makers" can disrespect Bobby Robson, a highly succesful and world renowned football manager, then they'll shoe the same toward Souness. If he doesn't like it then he'll drop them thus leading me to; if he drops Shearer then will he be sacked as per the norm?? Souness is a polar opposite to Robson and I'm raring to see how Bellamy, Dyer, Shearer and the like react to his "no shit" attitude.
u cannot mock him as he hasnt even took over yet. how do u no that he will do bad as a toon manager? and his no shit attitude, well thats what we need on our team. some manager to kick the players arses into gear.
even as a toon fan I can say mid table mediocrity here we come. The way I see it its like this... the cost of getting rid of souness at the end of the season was obviuosly less than the cost of compensating birmingham for nicking Bruce. If souness does jack all they will get rid just like leedsdid with Venables and reid. Then if Martin o'neil dont go to man utd they might "try" and get him or groom shearer for a coupleof years time at the end of this season. I'd have even have had houlier ahead of souness. key talent is falling out with players and getting sacked. Sounds like a certain Mr reid. :argue:
True, however assumptions on his performance are being derived from his previous jobs. In the English top flight he hasn't been very successful and has rarely been more than a mid table, mediocre manager. The appointment doesn't really reek of the ambition with which Sheperd was so forthcoming last week. Point taken though. Give the man a chance and see what he can do
