its annoying now its monthly. Cos if u dont like the line up/cant make it, then u have to wait for another month for the next one.
This is why it went monthly; people not being bothered. At this rate we will all be in Ikon before you know it!
I didnt say i wasnt bothered? Ive been to promise more than most people on here (ie. pretty much every week since it started...)
wouldnt of thought so........ theres plenty of good nights happening in around town at the moment, lets people expeirence diffrent dj's and different genres whilst at the same time still going to promise/quality every month. The whole dance music scene is growing in newcastle imo and thats probably due to the fact promise/quality has gone monthly.
People dont go to clubs if they dont like the line-up? Clubbing for me (at 'Trance' clubs anyway) is usually about the music rather than the whole experience (The 'novelty' has worn off, and i dont take drugs), so if there is someone playing that im not interested in seeing (Picotto ), then i probably wont attend....I have to be selective, im a poor student!
I go mostly to see my friends(although the music is class), I aint ever had a bad night at Promise, u can't say that about many places
Selective to fussy... The last time I checked John, four other DJ's played when Mauro was on at Promise previously. Was the line up so disinteresting?
Nope, it wasnt at all, i didnt say it was. I was just using Mauro as an example of a DJ that i wouldnt be bothered about seeing. in my first post the emphesis wasnt meant to be about the promise bookings. I have no problems with the line-ups, shown by the fact that i go to pretty much every Promise....
i only go when theres someone i wanna see as well i used to go to promise nearly every week about 18 months/2 years ago, when it was ornadel one week, warren the next, then hardwick, then seaman but i stopped going because the line ups started getting too hard, i dont like the likes of scot project, yoji, anne savage etc but i miss the weekly promise as well, though i totally understand why it went monthly- it is a business after all
Re: Selective to fussy... If someone dosen't like the main dj that may be enough to put them off coming all together just as if someone likes the main dj that single fact could be enough to make them come. It works both ways.
Re: Re: Selective to fussy... Exactly, people have a limited amount of money and if the line up doesn't float their boat (which let's face it you can never please everyone) then they ain't gonna come!
Lee, I can't be bothered to carry on about this. I think you are aiming all this at the wrong person. Because to be honest without committed dedicated people like me, who go week in, week out, there would be no Promise. Im obviously not disinterested, or i wouldn,t come to Promise, visit the msg board, enter the DJ competition. All i was meaning that was if for some reason someobdy doesnt come to Promise one month, then they will have to wait for another 4 weeks to get some Trance, which is annoying, and quite a long time. I'm sorry if my sentance structure emphesised the wrong point, or gave the wrong impression, im doing my Masters in Computer Science, not English Lit.
