They have an upstairs room. The last time I went there was to see Fergie. I went to the upstairs room and heard 'I got so much love to give' Over an hour later, I went back upstairs to chill. Same tune was on again. Wanktastic Enjoy u'r night Jon
Nope soz off to Ferry Corsten, seen Morillio couple of times you know what your gettin but it'll still be good cos they'l be loads of ppl there probs
Re: Re: morillo The Empire has always had a second room in fact 2, not many people no its got a room on the 3rd floor. Its just like a pub, dj nomarly playing retro, only think its open when its really busy which is only when big trance dj's are on. Been to see lawer, sander, derrick carter of late and its hasn't been that busy. last year it was done out and the whole upstairs is one room now (the old balcony) the dj stand is up where the bar used to be, its canny smart! Morrillo should be a class night, wish i could afford it.
Morillo is okay but plays too much of his Subliminal records in blatent promotional tactics and forgets the real reason he's there. He always attracts the good looking fanny though which is worth going along for
he's a party DJ, plays safe eay tunes that knows the crowd will like, ive enjoyed when i have seen him, but he does tend to play the same tunes, bit like corvin d
Morillo's absolutely class. Really talented. Some of his mixing his unreal and really good at using CDs to loop stuff. If you're into house music there's not many if anyone better
Re: Re: Re: morillo i found these rooms the first time i went that had local dj's on.....they were canny gud but that was ages ago!
I am into house music. And having seen Morrillo play, i can safely say there are loads and loads who are better. Kid and Jambon - YKTS.
I'd say he's possibly the worst House DJ I've ever heard in my life. He can't mix for shit, he only plays his own productions/stuff on his own label, and anyone can use a CD player. He can be good when he wants to be. I've heard some live mixes that aint too shabby at all, but he's by no means more than average, even then. Brett Johnson, D Carter, Mark Farina, H Foundation, Olivier Desmet, Justin Long, Dan X. There's 8 that are better off the top of my head
Check out some Justin Long stuff then, he's Dan X's production partner Didn't know you were into decent House music!
H - Foundation are mint, that is Hipp-E and Halo innit?? When I saw them at Shindig in Dec 2001 they were amazing why aren't they back I ask myself. About Morillio- he doesn't exactly play music but I'm sure he seems to mix ok whenever I've seen him, and you know theres going to be a good turnout whenever he plays so they'l be a good atmosphere at least, and for this reason I would still pay a lot to see him. He's pretty similar to other subliminal Dj's totally honking their own label, but i think Harry Choo Choo might be b a bit better, not seen him but I reckon he would be more tech-e apparently Morillio has a 16 hour set in manchester coming up, but I don't know what the fuck he is going to play then I'm sure the total length of all the subliminal CD's isn't that long
H-Foundation are Hipp-E and Halo, yeah. The pinnacle of West Coast deepness Sure it's 16 and not 10 or 12? If it's in Manchester, it'll be at Sankeys, which means it'll be at TheRedlight. Probably be one of the all-nighters, but I don't think Morillo is much of an achievement for Dave Vincent considering their last ones have been DJ Sneak and Derrick Carter
