Is the North Shields Fish Quay festival on this year? (Orange WOW?) I've went to it since it was first on when I was a kid. Used to love it, went last year and heard it was probably going to be the last. Is that still the case?
Nopes, cancelled I'm afraid. Was turning too difficult to police, plus took lots of money from local areas. Most of traders etc were from out of the area so the festival was to the detriment of local shops etc.
It's on, but it's been scaled right down. They're calling it a 'family festival' now and there isn't half as much music on. I think too many people were going for it to be safe so close to the river. I'm still going though. I hear they're having them spinning teacup things and candyfloss. Woo-hoo.
Ow i can remember that, one year i went wen i was just ickle with me mam and dad-and they made me stand for about 5 hours or summic cos they wanted to see the whalers (i think thats wot they are called, they were from Jamaica and bob marley used to be in the group)-bloody torture!!!
